Deleting your data

Delete one thing Gini kept, everything it kept, or the whole workspace — and how long each takes.

Four different sizes of delete. Most people asking about the biggest one actually want one of the smaller ones.

One thing

In the channel:

@Gini forget what I said about the acquisition.

@Gini that on-call page is wrong. Delete it.

Or app.ginicomputer.com → Wiki, and delete the page.

Immediate. Deletion means deletion, not hiding.

Everything from one channel

Remove Gini from the channel (/remove @Gini), then delete what it learnt from that channel in the Wiki. Pages trace back to where they came from, so this is findable.

The order matters. Removing Gini stops it reading anything new; it doesn't remove what's already written down.

If something sensitive was said in a channel Gini was in

Do both steps, and do the wiki one first if you're in a hurry. The pages are what your colleagues can read. Then remove Gini from the channel.

One person's connections

app.ginicomputer.com → Integrations → Disconnect. Immediate, and only affects your own connection.

This stops Gini reaching the tool. It doesn't delete what it already learnt from it: that's a wiki delete.

Everything

Email privacy@ginicomputer.com from an address on your workspace and ask for workspace deletion.

Deletion requests complete within 30 days.

What goes:

  • Every wiki page
  • Every skill your team wrote
  • Routine definitions and their history
  • Run records
  • Stored integration credentials

What we can't delete, because it isn't ours:

  • Messages in Slack. Gini's replies live in your Slack workspace under your own retention policy. Delete them in Slack.
  • Changes Gini made in your tools. A Linear issue it filed is your Linear issue. An email it sent is sent.
  • Files you moved somewhere durable. A doc in your Drive is yours.

Deletion is not reversible

There's no undo and no grace period after it completes. If you might come back, remove the app and leave the data: it costs nothing and it's all still there.

What happens on its own

Run records age out after 90 days by default without anyone asking. Message content Gini wasn't asked to keep isn't stored in the first place.

See Data handling for the full retention table. Enterprise plans can set different windows.

Data subject requests

For access, correction or deletion under GDPR or similar: privacy@ginicomputer.com.

If you're handling a request on behalf of one of your own users, say so: we'll tell you what we hold that relates to them and what we need from you to act.

Getting a copy first

Ask before you delete. Email privacy@ginicomputer.com and we'll export your wiki and skills. Worth doing if the deletion is procedural rather than because the data shouldn't exist.
