Terms of Service

The terms that govern your use of Gini. Plain version: use it responsibly, your data is yours, and it's provided as-is.

Last updated August 18, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Open Curiosity, Inc. ("Open Curiosity," "we," "us") governing your use of Gini, our AI coworker for your team chat, and related software and websites (the "Service"). By installing or using Gini, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service

Gini is an AI coworker your team adds to its chat (Slack today). It runs in a dedicated cloud environment we manage for your workspace and does the work your team delegates to it across the apps and accounts you connect. Your context, history, and connected-account data stay in your own Gini environment except as described in our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle data.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. By using Gini you represent that you meet these requirements.

Your responsibilities

  • You control what Gini can do. You decide which accounts to connect and which permissions to grant. You are responsible for the tasks you delegate and the actions Gini takes on your behalf.
  • Keep your account secure. You are responsible for keeping your login to the Gini environment we manage for you secure, and for anyone you give access to it.
  • Comply with the rules of services you connect. Your use of third-party services through Gini remains subject to those services' own terms.

Connected third-party services

Gini can connect to third-party services (for example, Google Workspace or Slack) using credentials and permissions you provide. Those services are operated by third parties under their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them. Your use of Google services through Gini is also subject to Google's terms, and Gini's use of Google user data follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
  • access, store, or distribute content you have no right to;
  • violate the terms of any service you connect, or attempt to circumvent their security or rate limits;
  • interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems.

Intellectual property

We own the Service, including the Gini software, name, and branding. These Terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you beyond the right to use the Service as permitted here. Your data, and anything you create with Gini, remain yours.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. Gini acts on your instructions and can make mistakes; you are responsible for reviewing important actions. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Open Curiosity will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.

Changes and termination

We may update the Service and these Terms over time; when we change the Terms we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and your continued use means you accept the changes. You may stop using Gini at any time, and you can revoke its access to your connected accounts whenever you choose.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Open Curiosity is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
